Smarty Pants Tutoring is a South African online tutoring platform that connects Grade 1–12 learners with qualified, curriculum-aligned tutors for personalised 1-on-1 support in Maths, English, Afrikaans and Sciences.
Our Story
Started by a tutor who saw the gap.
Smarty Pants Tutoring was founded by Nicole, a passionate educator who spent years working with South African learners across CAPS, IEB and Cambridge curricula. She saw the same pattern repeat: bright, capable children falling behind not because they couldn't learn — but because classroom sizes left no room for the individual attention they needed.
She started tutoring one-on-one and the results were immediate. Students who had been written off as "not maths people" were passing. Kids who dreaded English began to enjoy it. Parents who had lost hope were calling to say their children were asking to do extra practice.
Smarty Pants grew from that foundation: a belief that personalised, curriculum-aligned, 1-on-1 support is the single most effective academic intervention — and that every South African family deserves access to it.
